Complete Woman CIC is a migrant women-led, grassroots organisation based in Richmond Hill, Leeds, working at the intersection of gender, race, migration, and economic justice. We are a charitable organisation, grounded in lived experience, offering holistic support and advocacy for migrant women and their families, especially those facing structural vulnerability due to immigration status, underemployment, trauma, or displacement.
We offer front-line crisis support, women's empowerment programmes, youth development, community engagement, and systems-change advocacy. Our impact spans from individual healing to national-level policy change — all rooted in compassion, dignity, and justice.
Founded in 2009, Complete Woman was created by a small group of migrant women seeking to reduce isolation, build connections, and share experiences to support integration into new and unfamiliar cultures.
Complete Woman has two staff members, and relies heavily on volunteer support, and seasonal staff (project staff).
Complete Woman is guided and overseen by a dedicated board committee comprised of 6 members ranging in age from 16 to 65 years, all of African and Caribbean origin. Our team brings a wealth of lived experience related to the issues we aim to address, coupled with expertise in healthcare, enterprise, project management, and social issues.
Our service users are mainly settled, undocumented and women on the skilled workers visa, We also work with refugees or asylum seekers, and low income families from within the local borough of Burmantofts, Richmond Hill, and other surrounding areas in Leeds.

To achieve this mission, we collaborate with local partners to deliver key outcomes, including improved health and wellbeing, skills development, immediate and practical support, and strong advocacy for policy change.
As an active member of West Yorkshire Citizens and the BME Anti-Slavery Network, we bring communities together to drive both local and national change. Complete Woman CIC also leads the Humans Not Commodities: Work Justice Campaign (platformed by Citizens UK) and is a key partner of the Leeds Sponsored Workers Hub, championing the rights and wellbeing of international social care workers.
Our events provide networking/social interaction opportunities to share best practices and commonalities giving a sense of belonging and/or feeling as part of a wider community.
We conduct regular community events aimed at empowering the members spiritually, mentally, and physically, to build confidence, raise self-esteem, address issues of abuse, whilst promoting well-being, and financial independence.
We aim to support community members with services such as CV writing, job applications, employability skills, business development/start-ups, basic IT skills, and more.
We are members of several local network groups, such as Volition and Forum Central, and Burmantofts Richmond Hill Community Anchor, West Yorkshire Citizens.
Our charitable services and activities provide numerous benefits to women, children, and young people from deprived and marginalised communities, through practical and workable solutions that make a difference in solving the pressing challenges that women and families are facing today.
